352: To write love on the window

My friend Katie found and pointed me in the direction of this little window. Opposite our office is a construction site, where you walk through one of those pedestrian tunnels built along side it. This one happens to have windows included sporadically throughout and someone has gone through and added the word 'love' to a couple of the panes. Wonderful to see the word out there, a simple message. Interesting to find in such a random place. Makes an interesting composition with the frame bordering the photo, love right in the middle and the likes of scaffolding and barbed wire behind it.

236: Ahhh England

Ahh England, everything about this shot reminds me of my childhood here. Peeping through the white window into a garden filled with summer light, still, at 9pm in the evening! The garden green, dotted with flowers and in this case a big yellow sunflower. I was supposed to be asleep, but the sunlight still shone into my room, filling me with desire to be outside playing like the older children I could hear. But today sleepy time has come my friends, as I am still catching up on sleep from my travels. I must snooze, but will be back tomorrow with more overseas delights!

092: Raindrops are falling on my window

Wasn't this morning just one of those days where you want to stay under the doona all day with a good movie or book? The sound of rain is so soothing, I love how it drowns out all the other day to day sounds we hear, lawn mowers, kids yelling in the garden next door, garage doors slamming. Not so pleased about it when it spoils my freshly cleaned and blow dried hair although that can be forgiven when you have friends that will lend you an umbrella (thanks Rachel) and I revert back to enjoying the rain. I took a moment this evening to appreciate the detail of the rain drops on my window and the soft lights and blurry edges in the background. So pretty! It was also an opportunity to replace the original 74, the water on glass shot that I lost off my memory card, maybe it was for the best though now that I look back on it because this photograph has turned out better.

003: A wee bit of birdspotting

This tiny little bird was flitting around outside my bathroom window with a few of his mates. Quite hard to capture as they moved so fast but I was chuffed that I caught this guy when he paused for a breather.
