339: Festive celebrations

A clever little technique I've been meaning to try for a while here and what better opportunity than the Black Dove Christmas party. Basically I'm taking a photo, through a photo. So the subjects of the photograph - thank you Leonard family :) are having their piccie taken here by Phoebe, my camera focuses only on the digital camera's screen and Phoebe's arms, while the others are softly faded out in the background. Yet we still catch their full pose through the digital camera screen. Not a perfect outcome - the background is a little dark and I would have liked to rejig the composition a bit but sometimes is nice to spontaneously catch these things and I'm super happy I got a shot like this in the 365 project.

326: New heights

It was an early rise and shine this Sunday morning! An 8am excursion with a handful of Black Dove Body Bar dovelies. Off we headed to Rocksports - Fortitude Valley for some serious climbing, well as serious as you can be while you're climbing with this fun bunch! It was a great challenge and everyone got behind each other as the morning wore on and we began to try the harder walls (with overhangs and the like). When I found myself too worn out to climb anymore I whipped out my camera and used the opportunity to get some photos at unusual heights and angles. This was by far my favourite pic of the day - Lindsey was pushing herself up this blue wall (HARD) but she totally made it. You go girl! I think the shot worked so well cause of the different leveled surfaces and the light pouring in the window above, casts some great shadows and highlights!

Practicing my dancing feet outside Black Dove this evening, warming up for class. Having a great time and loving my classes. Thanks Lindsey and Claire.

202: Happy watering

A quick little arty snap at Black Dove this evening. Even their watering can is pretty. I was pleasantly surprised with the light and shadow brought up in the picture.

079: Hello Black Dove Body Bar!

By now I'm sure you guys know, this evening it was time to head into Black Dove Body Bar for the official launch party! What a lovely job the girls had done setting up both for the party and with their studio! It looked amazing and there was definately a buzz about the room. I know technically (again) I have cheated, as this is not ONE photo, but like I said before, lucky I can adjust my own rules to suit, and I just couldn't pick one shot to post from the evening. I wanted to share more of this exciting new venture with you guys. There was plenty of colour, style and atmosphere for me to try and capture and I am very pleased with the photos I got out of the evening. A big congratulations to Claire and Lindsey on creating such a wonderful studio that I hope will see many, many faces. Both familiar and new. All the very best for your first week dovelies, everyone else pop in or check out www.blackdove.com.au for more info.

077: A dovelie

A second sneak peek into Black Dove Body Bar and just in time, their launch party is happening this Friday evening. So that means they are open for business from next week!! This is my lovely friend Claire, of Claire and Lindsey. The Black Dove creators and directors. I captured this shot in the studio just after my pilates class with Linds and love how colourful, cheery and excited Claire looks.

056: Sneak peek

Everyone, a sneak peek into the wonderful new world of Black Dove Body Bar. Claire and Lindsey (the creators) are steadily working hard to get Black Dove ready for it's launch party at the end of March. This is a feature wall in their studio, a blackboard texture, where comments and pictures can be left. A wonderful and creative idea that will give yet another personalised touch to this exciting new business that will soon be open for business. For more news on these guys check out either their website or the Black Dove Body Bar group on Facebook.
