346: Rock stars rock on

A rock star like shot, taken at the Toowoomba leg of the Dest Fest tour when Rise for November were on stage. Big round lights, softly lit profile, the guitar sets the scene. Check out their myspace for more gig dates and venues!

331: Peachy smiles

Ben's band, Rise for November, took part in another photoshoot this evening. Experiementing with getting light into the dark alleyway that was selected for location we ended up driving a car in and using the headlights. Turned out it worked a treat. Peachy smiles all round. 302: All rise - for November

Tonight Ben's band, Rise for November, played they're debut gig at The Step Inn, Brisbane. There was a solid turn out and some sweet support bands. The guys did great, and I had a great time getting some photos for them (and the project). Managed to part with my camera for the last song though and try out the hard core scene's 'throw down' style of dance. Top night!

228: Photo shoot

Had a great afternoon with the boys from Rise for November today. They asked me to take some band shots which was super exciting as it was my first chance to practice pulling of a semi professional shoot. Source location, scout out a few backgrounds, people composition, light sources etc. The boys were very patient and gave me some of their best moves. Check out their myspace for a sound sample and I'm sure some more of the pics will be posted there shortly. This was one of the more creative shots of the day. Not so appropriate for what they are after, but arty enough for me to use in the 365 project.

178: Getting sketchy

A little sneak peek of some band t-shirts I've been working on for my boyfriend Ben and his band: Rise for November (check out their myspace for some talented hardcore tunes)! It's been lots of fun getting back to basics with pencil and paper and having a whole load of creative freedom to sketch up something awesome and totally different for these boys. Will keep you posted for future gigs where you'll be able to see the shirts in finished product.
