Lovely followers, the time has come for my final post. I'm so pleased to report that the three.six.five exhibition was a terrific success. I had a wonderful time at Myrtle Street Studio, the prints looked great on the fresh white walls and I must thank all who popped by throughout the week. What an amazing way to finish. I'll leave you with a good handful of photos from the opening night and links to my current online adventures. 'Hello Sunday' is a collaborative project filled with polaroid fun and delightful short stories and Punctuated with Smiles is my blogland home for all things creative. Please, pop by and say hello!

"Three.Six.Five - A year of moments" Exhibition

Well it's been a while, but I'm delighted to revisit the 365 photography project to announce "I'm having an exhibition"! Since the beginning of the year I've been planning and preparing and the time has finally come. On Saturday 22nd May, Myrtle Street Studio will open it's doors and the exhibition titled "Three.Six.Five - A year of moments" will be up for a week. If you would love to see the project in it's entirety, pop along for a visit, say hello and wander through the photography journey that was last year.

Myrtle Street Studio can be found at 39 Myrtle Street, Grange, Brisbane. It's opening hours are Wednesday to Friday 12pm - 6pm and Saturday 10am - 4pm.

365: Class of three six five

Here we are on new years eve. Amid celebrations of a year ending, a year beginning, a birthday and the completion of my 365 photography project! I thought it would be nice to capture friends for this last post - in a old school class photo kind of style. Some of these guys above have been around since before the project was just a seed of an idea, some are new friends made this year, tonight even - helping me celebrate.

To those of you who have supported me throughout the project, inspired me, posed for me, encouraged me - thank you, thank you, thank you. With a big special thanks to my beautiful, loving and caring boyfriend Ben, you helped me through the tougher, uninspired days and celebrated the photographic highs with me xo.

Probably one of my biggest and best new years resolutions, I'm proud that I stuck with it, made the most of it and now have a computer chockers with photos.

The plan for 2010... there is no specific photography project as such. I'd like to work on doing a few professional photo shoots, with models and makeup etc. Basically having a concept, putting in the planning and the organisation to try and get some super shots. Because what I found this year, while I had some great ideas and results, sometimes the photo wasn't the best I knew it could be and with that bit more planning time (more than 1 day!) I'm interested in the results!

I'm also planning an exhibition. Of the 365 photography project. I'd love the chance to display my photography work from the year, I think it would be hugely exciting to see it all in a room and to share it with family, friends and as many people I can get in off the streets as possible. So stay tuned!

I will also probably be starting another blog - just to post photos and design and other creative stuff I'm into and working on - so I'll let you know where you can find that.

Lastly (I know I waffle, I'm sorry) I would like thank all the lovely readers who have followed my adventure in blogland. Thank you for all your comments and your visits. Maybe one day we will get the chance to meet! For those of you who have your own blogs I look forward to continuing to follow your adventures and finding many new ones along the way.

Almost the end

Well I can't believe it. 364 photos down, only 1 to go! How the year seems to have flown in photographs. Yet when I look back, there is a lot of pics! And a lot of interesting memories that will be remembered by having a photo from each and every day of 2009. I'm terribly excited about completing the project, for the proud fact that I took a photo a day for 365 days. I'm working on a good one for tonight - new years eve. A great time to capture the last photo of the project. So stay tuned. I'll have the last one up soon with news of what might be to come in 2010.

364: Glow

The other day while I was at the gallery I accidently used a photography trick I had forgotten all about, but hadn't really had the chance to test out yet.

Creating a creative blur by simply zooming the lens in or out during exposure. So I popped out and bought these lovely bright flowers to be the subject of my photo and got the camera set up on the tripod (the camera really needs to be as still as possible and it's handy to have both hands free, one for the lens and one for the shutter button). Then I just played around with the ISO, shutter speed and aperture. My best results ended up being an ISO of 400, shutter speed of 1"3 and an aperture of 16 for this particular setting.

I love the result of focus in the middle of the photograph and the motion and colour created outwards by adjusting the lens during exposure.

362: Art excursion

Today is my brother's 21st birthday. So first of all Happy Birthday Nick! We decided to take ourselves off to GoMA where the Asia Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art (apt6) exhibition is on, and took a look around. It was well worth it, so if you've got any spare time these holidays head over, the bonus is it's free!

This was part of a installation by a collaboration of artists that work under the acronym of YNG. An old combie van/hut decorated with Yoshitomo Nara's art and objects to create a sense of wonder and discovery, very cool. I loved the monkey in the passenger seat and the little rubber duck on the dash.

361: Bookworm

Being on holidays is lovely for many reasons, but at the moment I'm especially loving vegging out and being a complete bookworm for the day. It even makes for a good pic! PS Great book

360: Beer, backyard cricket and bucketing rain

The traditional Boxing Day party with Ben and his friends is on today. This involves basically: beer, cricket (watched and played), music and a good post Christmas catch up with everyone. Their current house has a super 'viewing deck' from which Liam was providing us with some great mid match commentary. It set up a great photo with the angle, the rain and the activity.

359: Christmas is here

Christmas is here and boy what a day! It's been lovely, filled with family and friends, glorious Christmas food, the after lunch siesta, pressies and games. What better way to cap it off than with an evening swim. I just had to hop out and grab my camera though when we turned the lights on. I loved how they lit up the water, and the clarity that was produced. Nick didn't mind having a few more photos taken for the 365 project. The end is fast approaching, I can't believe I only have 7 photos to go!

358: Setting summer rays

A slight contrast to yesterday's traditional (although fake) Christmas pine tree, today's photo features a palm suited much more to tropical Queensland. I couldn't resist capturing some of the warm summer light cast beautifully across everything along the top of the Kangaroo Point cliffs. Lovely colours.

Warm season's greetings to everyone! This year Brisbane can proudly boast the world's largest solar powered Christmas tree set up King George Square. The big star on top, made up of solar panels, lights up the 16,000 blubs decorating the 21 meter tree!

356: Rumbling rolling clouds

This afternoon an impressive looking storm rolled across the sky towards Brisbane. From my vantage point of the 14th floor at work I glued myself to the glass for a few minutes trying to capture lighting (dreaming - it wasn't the right conditions, but one day I will get an amazing lighting shot!) and the intensity of the fast paced dark clouds and sheets of rain. My most pleasing shot was when these 2 little birds flew unexpectedly across the sky, fleetingly looking for somewhere to hide I'm sure!

Put in a coin and you never know what you might get out of this sweet dispenser. Normally filled with jelly beans, tonight this one gave me a blue beaded necklace. Lucky me!

A beautiful rainy day in Brisbane today. Oh we haven't had rain for a while. What a welcome sound! So much so that Candi and I had to get out there on our bicycles and ride through the puddles. I was very pleased with this photo - a favourite to add to the collection. The vibrant, sharp colours. The water, adding just a little bit of motion, along with the bike. Just a hint of the mischief we are up to.

352: To write love on the window

My friend Katie found and pointed me in the direction of this little window. Opposite our office is a construction site, where you walk through one of those pedestrian tunnels built along side it. This one happens to have windows included sporadically throughout and someone has gone through and added the word 'love' to a couple of the panes. Wonderful to see the word out there, a simple message. Interesting to find in such a random place. Makes an interesting composition with the frame bordering the photo, love right in the middle and the likes of scaffolding and barbed wire behind it.

351: Wee little gecko

I had rather an experimental shot in mind today and unfortunately it didn't quite work out just yet. I have to master some settings and equipment first. So I'll keep working on that one, instead I stalked around looking for a back up shot. This little baby gecko was hiding out on my tripod, so I popped him down on the table and tried to get a couple of photos. To spark up the finished outcome I've played around a lot with the levels and contrasts to give it a film photo style finish.

The kids have been out with their chalk and are well into the festive spirit! I was delighted to stumble upon this lovely pavement illustration of Santa being pulled along by his reindeer with a sled loaded up with sacks of presents. Ho ho ho!

Bentley and I took advantage of a sunny, Aussie afternoon in the garden to get the old hose out and have some fun, while picking up some artistic piccies at the same time. This one makes me giggle, Bentley looks so curious, nose pointed, tail curled up! Wasn't long till he was under there having a cool down.

345: Jazzy Fridayz

This afternoon I made a delightful discovery. Totally by accident I came across the Green Jam Session held at Melbourne St Green, QPAC, South Brisbane. Soothing jazz floated across the road and as curiosity usually gets the better of me I went over to take a look. In a wonderful parklike setting, stools, beanbags, deckchairs and rugs had been set up under leafy trees with little tables and tea lights. A relaxing atmosphere, word appears to have already spread as plenty of people were scattered across the lawn with a seat and a drink.

I am sad to report though, after a little online research this happened to be the last session listed. Keep your eyes and ears open if you are in the area, you never know, it may be back by popular demand or check in here, just in case.

343: For more than just the Grandmas

We spent a lovely afternoon out of the office today, catching some rays and rolling some bowls in the Christmas spirit. No longer a sport thrown into the grandma/grandma basket, they're starting as young as 1 and a half! My work bud Amanda brought along her little girl Hailey - a real cutie, so while the sun set and the shadows grew I gradually threw less bowls and found myself having a lovely time playing catch me if you can on the green instead!

342: Hearts of light

Tonight was an experiment to carry out a tutorial set by Katie of Color Me Katie. She has this nifty little trick of cutting out a shape on a small piece of paper. Placing it over the lens of the camera and taking a photo with quite a few light sources involved. A couple of hers have been of night time city scapes or massive Christmas trees, check them out here and here - lovely! As we have some fairy lights up around the house for Christmas I decided to bite the bullet and use them as my light source. What a dreamy result, gives the room a warm and inviting Christmas feel.

So I couldn't help but return to the location of photo 334 this evening, when another glorious sunset presented itself. I took on the challenge of sourcing another completely different pic from the same location and am quite pleased with the result. Interlacing wire fences like this one always come up well in photographs, especially well in this situation - as a silhouette, in front of such deep yellows and oranges softly setting over the horizon and reflecting across the water.

A simple photo this evening. Just some lettering outside the house. But I thought I'd focus a bit more with playing around with some post shot effects. Levels, saturation, brightness, contrast. Quite an intense result, and I always like to feature another little bit of typography.

339: Festive celebrations

A clever little technique I've been meaning to try for a while here and what better opportunity than the Black Dove Christmas party. Basically I'm taking a photo, through a photo. So the subjects of the photograph - thank you Leonard family :) are having their piccie taken here by Phoebe, my camera focuses only on the digital camera's screen and Phoebe's arms, while the others are softly faded out in the background. Yet we still catch their full pose through the digital camera screen. Not a perfect outcome - the background is a little dark and I would have liked to rejig the composition a bit but sometimes is nice to spontaneously catch these things and I'm super happy I got a shot like this in the 365 project.

338: Idol times

...and speaking of Nick's art. Him and 2 of his friends Claire and Lachlan have opened a new exhibition of their works (Idol Times) at the Fort gallery this evening!

A super mix of illustrations, collage and paint in 3 quirky styles, the show is open until next Friday so make sure you pop along and check it out.

This photo was a wonderful surprise - I took a sneaky low shot looking up as this girl pointed out a piece of work to her friend. The angle, shadow and lighting came out a treat. Very pleased.

337: Signal where?

The inner city Snow White's poisoned red apple! Or that's what I think every time I walk past this signal box. They are popping up left, right and centre around Brisbane with some great artwork attached. If you're ever driving through Kenmore, keep your eyes open for a bright one near Woolies. My brother did it and even scored himself and award for it too. Nice one!

336: Mary-Lou

Mary-Lou was a lovely gift from friends Claire and Dave for my birthday. She came flat in a plank of wood, so one DIY crafty week night I pushed all the parts out and joined her together with little brass screws. Now she move and dances with her arms and legs. Cute! I found her friend at a shop just around the corner... perhaps Mary-Lou will soon have a friend in John-Luke?

335: Lyrical rainbows

I've always wished you could capture music in a photograph. I'd love to see any pictures people have if you've managed to interpret music into a photo in some way (Email me). Perhaps people dancing, or someone playing an instrument? My best interpretation to date is through light reflections thrown off the CD in coloured rays. Imagine the sweet tunes those colours hold.

Driving along Kingsford Smith Drive this evening, noticing the gorgeous sunset disappearing before my eyes, I made the sudden descision to pull over (sorry to any cars that I may have cut off as a result). Having taken a few sunset photos this year already, I went for another style this time! Looks so warm and summery

Anna has borrowed her Mum's convertible while she's away so we all got a little bit excited and went for a ride down the highway with the roof down. Tried to capture some of that openess here with Anna, driving, just caught in the left side mirror.

Ben's band, Rise for November, took part in another photoshoot this evening. Experiementing with getting light into the dark alleyway that was selected for location we ended up driving a car in and using the headlights. Turned out it worked a treat. Peachy smiles all round. I'm always keeping my eye out for interesting shadows caught on walls (floors, ceilings, anywhere really). Sometimes the light can capture an object and cast a striking shadow more interesting than the object itself. I've given it a whirl this evening with this old washing basket left lying around.

Discovered this little monkey at work today. You wind him up and he jumps a full back flip. I managed to borrow him for a few minutes and get some action piccies. A great opportunity to capture some quick movement, and boy does this guy jump fast. Faster than I realised. But I love the final effect in this photo - 3 stages of movement blended nicely together.

326: New heights

It was an early rise and shine this Sunday morning! An 8am excursion with a handful of Black Dove Body Bar dovelies. Off we headed to Rocksports - Fortitude Valley for some serious climbing, well as serious as you can be while you're climbing with this fun bunch! It was a great challenge and everyone got behind each other as the morning wore on and we began to try the harder walls (with overhangs and the like). When I found myself too worn out to climb anymore I whipped out my camera and used the opportunity to get some photos at unusual heights and angles. This was by far my favourite pic of the day - Lindsey was pushing herself up this blue wall (HARD) but she totally made it. You go girl! I think the shot worked so well cause of the different leveled surfaces and the light pouring in the window above, casts some great shadows and highlights!

325: New camera old camera

This evening, just as the sun started to go down I got out my new, old camera. A Ricohmatic 35, a nice little pressie I got for my birthday, and I sat it on the window ledge. Looking out across the jacaranda laden treetops I set about doing a little experimenting. My best shot (above) has just about captured the tree branches ever so close to clearly, while the actual trees in the background have been beautifully distorted and faded. The black of the camera softy suggests the image's frame. Quite cool.

324: Scissors, paper, rock

Kicking back on a Friday afternoon. Nothing beats a bbq and a few beers. Currently Ben and I are really into XXXX's new brew Summer Bright Lager. Make sure you give it a go, it's surprisingly good! The other added bonus is that it has the old scissors, paper or rock printed under each bottle cap, so you have the joy of this old school little game everytime you and your mates open a new bottle.

This evening I excitedly took myself off to Queensland College of Art (Griffith University) for their annual photography graduate exhibition. This year "Dear Horizon" is open to the public from now until the 21st November at the Southbank Campus. A lovely collection of the students work ranging from photo journalism and photographic art practice through to creative advertising. While I was there I took a moment out to try and capture one of the buzzingly, atmospheric rooms for my photo of the day. It boosted me with a new injection of creativity that left me with a buzz of excitement over the possibility of studying here one day!

321: Down the drain

After getting a great drain photo (I know, it sounds strange) in Bristol, England earlier this year, I was inspired to find another one in Brisbane today. Now unfortunatley our Brisbane one's don't hold the town name like Bristol's do - that's what drew me too it in the first place (a slightly different memento to have of a town). But it was a great time of day to be out shooting and I quite liked that this drain had a newspaper down there. Lucky I caught it when it did, only a few hours later the rain came pelting down so it won't be there anymore. Something different anyway. Looking down instead of up. Never know what you might come across when you aren't looking straight ahead at eye level!

318: Beachy saturdaze

Mmm in love with the way the light has processed here, so bright and airy (refreshing after so much darkness in last weeks photos). It was the day for love too. Friends Samantha and Brendan (previously featured here and here) were kind enough to let me practice a casual protraiture shoot with them. Today I really wish I didn't have a one photo a day limit to the project though as I would love to share some of their photos with you. We had a blast and they acted like old pros, lots of smiles, small talk, laughs and running around, yet interlaced with quite moments and kisses and loving looks. I pulled Brendan aside after we had wrapped it up for a shot I'd been keen to get as soon as I noticed him wearing a pair of Ray Bans. I just wanted to capture all that sandy, salty sea goodness in their reflection.

317: Up up in the sky

Tried to snare some of the Valley's more historic architecture this afternoon. This spot in town caught my eye as a whole bunch of birds were swooping and playing around the top of the building. I only caught a few of them, but the mix of sky and building came together as great composition - especially with the deep splash of colours and just a smiggen of typography down the bottom.

316: Spider eats bee

Getting back to nature and bugs this evening, when I found this rather revolting looking spider in our bathroom eating a bee. Caught him in his web, wrapped him up and proceeded to devour him. Gross - one for the boys I think! Love the way the colours have come up though.

Another hot favourite for this month. Full of fun after reading the Color Me Katie blog today I convinced my flat mate, Candi, to get jumping on her bed (it didn't really take much). She's a little bit excited that I've finally caught her face in one of my pics (damn I was really trying to keep her hidden for the whole year) haha no but I'm excited to catch so much movement colour and emotion. I had a lovely date at the movies this evening with my girlfriends. We caught the Michael Jackson flick - This is it. A wonderful music documentary with a side order of popcorn and giggles. Only just enough time to squeeze my photo in, but I love this theatre atmosphere and soft dots of light.

Tonight I get a view from high up places. A birthday treat. I took the opportunity to photograph some of the surrounding. I'm a bit smitten with how the grounds around the church are a little hazy, the lights little white glowing dots and the traffic whizzing by. How atmospheric.

A nice follow on from yesterday's photo - however this time the lighter had a purpose. Lighting the candles on Ben and my birthday cake! An indulgent chocolate and raspberry delight (thanks Mum!) mMmm delicious. My birthday isn't actually until tomorrow and Ben's the day after but with such a busy weekend already planned we took tonight off to celebrate with our families. Took the tripod out this evening and climbed this elvated path next to the main road I've been meaning to climb for a long time. For this exact reason! I knew I could get some great speeding night lights winding in and out along the river with a combination of the right settings and the tripod. What a lovely photo - perhaps one to add to the favourite pile.

Just hanging down at the local pub this evening. After the Motel neon sign I photographed earlier in the year outside the art gallery, I thought I'd have another stab at the dark setting glowing light style of pic and what better opportunity than this one staring me in the face. This time despite my beer goggles I'm much happier with the result. Happy Friday - now a beer anyone?

302: All rise - for November

Tonight Ben's band, Rise for November, played they're debut gig at The Step Inn, Brisbane. There was a solid turn out and some sweet support bands. The guys did great, and I had a great time getting some photos for them (and the project). Managed to part with my camera for the last song though and try out the hard core scene's 'throw down' style of dance. Top night!

301: Bright as bubblegum

I was chatting to someone today and much to my amusement while I was mid sentence they stopped chewing what I had just assumed to be gum, and blew a big bubble. This threw me into a state of giggles, why?! Perhaps it was because it was so out of context for a business man to be partaking in what we percieve to be a childhood activity. It certainly brought out fond memories of endless hours of chewing, trying to blow the biggest bubble possible without getting gum in my hair. Because these days, as adults it's more about the chewie - a minty stick to freshen the breath after an oniony lunch, a completely different chew texture to bubblegum - bubbles (well decent ones) are not possible with chewie! I had forgotten the joys of bubblegum. Pink, sickly sweet, oh so chewy. I bought a packet and had a great time blowing the best bubbles I could and running in front of the camera to get a photo out of it!

300: Violet sheets capeting our streets

Today's pic marks the success of reaching photograph 300 of 365! I'm super excited by this achievement and can't believe I'm barrelling towards the end of the project. How the year flies when you take each day photo by photo.

I've been noticing Brisbane's signature jacarandas each day on my way to and from work and dying to take some pics. They are very much out in bloom at this time of the year, so today I got too it and captured some of the gorgeous violet sheets that are carpeting out streets.

A quieter day today, with much more mundane things like cleaning the bathroom and doing the laundry. But low and behold great photos can be found anywhere. As I was bringing my washing in late this afternoon I noticed how great this view, in paticular at this time of day, would look through the lens of my camera. So I ran inside and grabbed it and here's the result!

297: In the wild wild west

I had a fantastic day out today with Ben at Movie World on the Gold Coast. Lots of rides, lots of shops, shows, food and fun. While I've never been a rollercoaster person - I just wasn't brave enough! I bit the bullet and alongside Benny braved the Superman ride and the Leathal Weapon! Kinda cool.

The Wild Wild West here was one of my favourites though, water rides always have been. Plus on this one you get mega saturated (as you can see) and on such a hot day this was perfect for a cool down.

A funny looking graffiti man crossed paths with me while I was walking to the bus this afternoon. Simple but cute, Mr Sqaure head caught my eye, my camera and my heart. The white fill complements the other colours in this palette perfectly. Not too bright or harsh on the eye (like some graffiti), warmed just enough in the afternoon light.

Mmm a really great handmade drum found it's way under my lens this evening. Belonging to my musical bud Liam, we had some fun making silly drum beats and pulling African dance moves. I love the detail the camera has picked up in the skin and the colours of the rope holding it down around the rim.

My beautiful boyfriend has spoilt me with the new Marc Jacobs scent Lola, I've been lusting after it since having the promo card thrust into my hand in Selfridges in England. Perfume bottles are always so creatively designed, this one is no exception. A lovely subject.

Sometimes I feel I take too many photos of my food. Although I do love food and I think about it alot, and since another random goal of mine is to put together a recipe book one day, I figure this is great practice at getting some good looking food pics.

Found myself heading to Nine Lives gallery again this evening to check out some awesome New York photography by Dane Beesley. After watching an amusing episode involving 6 guys trying to get a vintage dresser through the 2nd floor window of the gallery (successfully I might add) we climbed the stairs (the more customary option) and had a good look around. This little old chair in the corner caught my eye and looked great against the stark white walls with someone's shadow cast aross it.

288: Playing with sparklers

This post was lots of fun. I popped by the supermarket on the way home and bought a couple of packs of sparklers. Then with the help of my flat mate, a tripod, the night light (or lack thereof) I was able to capture this rather cool shot. We had to do a few practice takes to get settings, timing and handwriting correct but it's ended up producing a great photograph to represent the 365 project!

When I noticed Frankie was selling their first ever 'photo album' I couldn't resist diving in with my card and treating myself. Much to my excitement and not too many sleeps later, I was delighted to find this gorgeous book in my letter box. Mmmm, pages of inspiring and pretty photographs from around the world in a very delicious Frankie style. Maybe one day one of my photos will be in a future edition!

284: Something different

Inspired by the wonderful new range of 10 illustrated prints available through my favourite vintage letterpress printers, Bespoke Press, I set to work this week to produce something a bit outside the box for the 365 project. Selecting the gorgeous old gramophone photo from a few days ago (vintage is the theme here) I put pencil to paper and got drawing. It took a few shots to shake the cobwebs, but I really got into drawing these cute little pin up girls I wanted to accompany the gramophone. A little collaborative piece to celebrate the amazing Bespoke Illustrators Project. They are also celebrating the launch with the give away of all giveaways!

283: Party time

All the makings of a great party. Plastic shot glasses - previously containing jelly shots, beer, wine, spirits and all the appropriate cups. My favourite - the red plastic cups (very american teen party) with a bit of a twist.

A stella find by friends Claire and Dave, these cups have an adhesive label on the side, with a peel back label revealing a solid black panel. Use your fingernail, a knife, biro, anything, to scratch your name or any preferred label onto the cup so you will never loose him again all night. Brilliant.

Oh don't forget the pair of bright red party specs, just to mix things up and make your vision that little bit more challenged, even after the copious amounts of drinks previously mentioned. Thanks guys, this was one good party!

281: Puppy play time

Remember Jett? Amy and Craig's gorgeous little black ball of fun. Bentley and I headed around for some puppy play time this evening. Talk about movement! These guys didn't stay still for a minute. I ended up choosing this shot as I like the angle, looking down the carpet and the swirl of black and white contrasting pups in the middle. (Hope you can all see Jett ok, sometimes the pics tend to come up a bit darker on other monitors than what I see on mine).

Loving playing with movement at the moment. Simply hung my little fob watch necklace on the wall this evening and got it swinging from side to side. Really need to get my hands on that tripod. I feel the results would have been much better. Still cool effect.

278: Dandelion metamorphous

I mentioned last weekend that I would come back to the garden shrubbery - so here I am. Love that in this photo all 3 stages of the dandelions' life have been captured. On a brilliantly sunny day, perfect for drying clothes, just under the washing line grows this little patch: new dandelion buds, sunny yellow flowery ones and in their final stages tufty white globes, just waiting to be blown away by little children.

276: Near the water

Hmmm I may have been a little hasty a few days ago when mentioning another favourite. This one is pretty high up there! Which was surprising as at the time I took it I didn't realise quite what I had captured. Today I drove Candi and my little Bentley dog down the coast for an afternoon's fun by the sea. A special treat for him after deserting him for a month while I was in England. We had a great time splashing around in the waves, chasing other dogs up and down the beach, digging holes and basking in the sun. Once we'd had enough time on the open beach we pottered along the sandy waterways - came across a beautiful wedding and I got my photo in for the day. Mmm lovely.

275: Digital VS Film

The age old question! But it makes a great pic. This evening I had the pleasure of hanging out with the friends I studied design with. We love getting together for a beer, a good old gossip, some (often inspiring) creative nattering and the opportunity to bust all our cameras, photography now another shared passion. Today I think we totalled 5 between 4 people - a record! Imagine if Ash was with us :) When Tash get's this film developed I'll see if I can get my hands on her photo of me photographing her. That would be a great side by side post.

273: Find a feather pick it up

...that's what I did. On my way out of the house this morning, off to catch the bus I noticed this colourful feather on the ground. So I popped it in the gate hinge where it sat safely until I got home and got my camera out. Great angle, lovely late afternoon light. The feather makes a sharp but pretty feature. One of my favourites I think.

This is a beautiful ornamental gun that the boys have decorating their mantelpiece. Love the detail, it was good to get up close and personal with the lens again. Nice and sharp in the middle, soft around the edges, just the way we like it!

I think my next camera purchase is going to be a tripod! I find myself trying to experiment with low light photographs or movement and do successfully capture things like this a tripod is a must. The moon shot has come out quite nicely though, in an old fashioned looking photo kind of way. Soft and slightly blurry.

I just pottered around my backyard this afternoon looking for today's daily snapshot. While these little buds are probably weeds, I still think they can be photographed to look arty and pretty in light breeze and setting afternoon light.

269: Glassware

Glassware makes a great prop or feature in photography. The way light filters through it. Reflections shine off it. Views are kinked and distorted. Lots of fun and lots of experimentation. The multiples of glasses here in the late afternoon light looks pretty. However I'm going to wreck it now by taking one and pouring myself a delicious glass of bubbly.
